About TankMinded

Straightforward aquarium guides with specific recommendations. No fluff, no filler, no generic top-10 lists.

What TankMinded Is

TankMinded exists because most aquarium advice online is either buried in forum threads from 2009 or published on sites that clearly assembled their "guides" from other guides. The same vague advice recycled across dozens of sites, none of it specific enough to actually help.

Every guide on this site aims to be the most specific, practical resource available for that topic. Not "get a good filter" but "the AquaClear 30 at 150 GPH with this specific media setup." Not "feed appropriately" but "2-3 pellets twice daily, skip Sundays."

We cover the debates honestly. Tank size minimums, cycling methods, feeding schedules. These things are not settled science. Different fishkeepers have different approaches, and we will tell you about both sides instead of pretending there is only one right answer.

Our Mission

Honest Recommendations

We recommend gear we trust and have used in real setups. If something has flaws, we will tell you about them. If there is a cheaper alternative that works just as well, you will hear about that too.

Practical Advice

Our guides focus on what actually matters for keeping fish healthy and happy. Specific numbers, real schedules, and the kind of detail that only comes from experience.

Community-Driven

The content here is built from research across fishkeeping forums, scientific literature, and manufacturer specs. When hobbyists disagree, we show both sides.

Who's Behind TankMinded

TankMinded was started by a hobbyist fishkeeper who got tired of outdated care guides and generic product recommendations scattered across the internet. After years of reading forum discussions, testing different setups, and watching which advice actually worked in practice, the need for a straightforward, honest resource became clear.

What started as personal notes on fish care evolved into these detailed guides. Every recommendation here has been tested in real aquariums, every parameter range has been verified, and every product choice reflects actual hands-on experience with freshwater setups.

The goal is simple: give fishkeepers the specific, practical information they need to succeed, without the fluff or marketing speak that clutters most aquarium sites.
